Even without a blackout or nip-slip, Super Bowl XLVIII (#SB48) generated 24.9 million tweets during the live telecast, beating out the 24.1 tweets sent during last year’s nail-biter.

Shutting out the Broncos offense for nearly three quarters, the Seahawks steamrolled them to cement a case among one of the best defenses of all time. With a resounding final score of 43-8, the Seahawks took their first Super Bowl title with a vengeance the Broncos couldn’t match.

With the Seahawks running train, Twitter erupted with gems to fill our quota for excitement. From Hillary Clinton’s jab at FOX news to JCPenney’s drunken commentary, the twittersphere knew how to liven things up.
