This month on 451 Heat, we’re excited to spotlight a client that started as a local Boston start-up and has grown to be a national success in one short year.
Meet the Client: Mom Meet Mom
Mom Meet Mom, an innovative online social platform that connects like-minded, local moms with one another, was created by three mom co-founders, Julia High, Christa Terry, and Meg Gerritson and launched on Mother’s Day in 2013.
The idea? “Matchmaking” for moms. Might sound strange to some. But, when you first become a mom the need to connect with other moms suddenly becomes a priority. Meeting moms in public can be like walking up to a stranger at a bar – someone needs to step up and ask for digits. It’s awkward. And it may turn out that you’re not even compatible with the other mom.
Mom Meet Mom’s specially designed geo-mapping and social matching features take the guesswork and anxiety out of finding and meeting fellow moms in the area. As mothers, the founders of Mom Meet Mom are passionate about helping other moms build a local support network. This site was created to provide a solution to some of the unique challenges they’ve faced including: scheduling play dates, severe child food allergies, managing work-life balance, and even mothering a premature child.
Enter 451 Marketing: Moms take the National Press by Storm
Mom Meet Mom came to 451 Marketing with plans to expand nationally the summer of 2013. The exciting start-up needed to to gain national media exposure to increase web traffic to their site and grow their membership.
451 Marketing pitched national mom-focused and general interest media to get attention for the brand. By early 2014, 451 Marketing had secured coveted media coverage that helped to grow Mom Meet Mom by leaps and bounds – 248 pieces reaching more than 250,000,000! Take a look at Good Morning America’s coverage of the service:
